Who we are

This website is operated by Ramsay Allan, a painter based in Angus, Scotland. Ramsay Allan is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. If you have any privacy question or request, please get in touch through the Contact page.

What information we collect

• Studio mailing list. Your email address (required) and first name (optional) when you join the studio mailing list.
• Signup details. With each mailing-list signup we record the time and version of your consent, which placement of the form you used, and limited campaign-source information (such as UTM parameters) if present in the page address.
• Contact form. The name, email address, subject and message you voluntarily submit through the Contact form.
• Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we collect non-identifying usage data through Google Analytics. If you decline, analytics cookies are not set. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie banner.

How we use your information

• With your consent (you join, or leave the list, by a clear action): to send occasional studio email updates, and to collect optional analytics.
• To take steps you request: responding to your enquiries through the Contact form, such as commission, purchase or exhibition questions.
• Legitimate operational needs: keeping the website secure, preventing abuse (for example through rate limiting and spam protection), and maintaining records of your consent.

Who processes your information

Mailing-list emails and contact storage are handled by Resend as our email service provider. Mailing-list signups are stored in a secure database operated by Convex. With your consent, anonymous usage statistics are collected by Google Analytics. Other technical services that keep the site running (such as hosting) process data only on our instructions.

These service providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, it is protected by appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.

How long we keep information

Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Other personal information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for and for any legal obligations that apply.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a portable copy where applicable, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that was lawfully done before.

Complaining to the ICO

You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled. See ico.org.uk.

Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. However, no online system can promise absolute security, and we cannot guarantee it. This service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and the date above.
