An oil painter drawn to the power of expression across multiple genres — from dreamlike surrealism to the intimate focus of portraiture, landscapes, and the quiet of still life.
Born in 1962, Ramsay brings a wealth of life experience to the canvas — including loss, grief, joy, growth, and discovery. Deeply inspired by masters such as Michelangelo, Picasso, Dalí, Sargent, Cézanne, Matisse, and Van Gogh, he works from his home studio in Angus, Scotland.
“I realised that painting was what I wanted to do, and art was what I wanted on our walls—so I began creating the collection I could not afford to buy.”
His work has been published internationally, featured in several art publications, and exhibited at Galeria Azur, Berlin. A digital solo exhibition with VIVID Art Gallery is scheduled for October 2026.
