Artist's Commentary
“Autumn Glenisla is drawn from a real view in the Angus glen where Allan’s mother, Janet Ogilvy, was born in 1926. Amber, gold and terracotta foliage gathers around a solitary white cottage, its smoking chimney providing a small sign of human presence within the valley. The painting reflects Allan’s enduring connection to family and the Scottish landscape. In the centenary year of Janet’s birth, the work honours her life and acknowledges how people and places continue to shape us long after they are gone. Its stillness makes it both a celebration of peace and a personal act of remembrance.”
