“Edinburgh Castle presents the historic fortress above a foreground fountain, its architecture constructed through broad passages of palette-knife texture. Deep blues and dark shadows are broken by areas of golden light, creating a strong contrast between the weight of the stone structure and the movement below. The handling reduces the familiar landmark to interlocking shapes, broken edges and layered surfaces, allowing colour and material gesture to carry the drama of the scene.”
