Artist's Commentary

“Stan presents a young man in a leather jacket and hood against a deep emerald-green ground. Dark glasses partly conceal his expression, while reflections across the lenses introduce fragments of an environment beyond the frame. The close composition and simplified setting give the portrait a crisp, contemporary structure, balancing the solid presence of the figure with details that remain withheld. Rather than supplying a narrative, the painting allows clothing, pose and reflected light to shape the encounter.”
